应用心理学主要学习现代医学理论与临床理论与实践技能，中医学和心理学方面的基本理论和基本知识，接受心理学科学思维和科学实验的基本训练，具有良好的科学素养，掌握一定的医学心理的临床技术、方法和手段，具备进行心理疾患、心身疾病治疗、心理咨询、心理治疗、心理健康教育和研究的基本能力。

应用为4个领域

Clinical（临床心理学）, counselling（咨询心理学）, educational（教育心理学）, and industrial/organizational (I/O: 工业组织心理学)

临床心理学和医学心理学属于应用心理学的分支，目前国内没有临床心理学和医学心理学的正式本科教育，总体来说这两方面的研究和师资力量还是很缺乏的。

所以很多心理学专业的学生会选择出国留学，进一步研究医学或者临床等应用心理学的相关专业。

英国的心理学专业研究历史非常长：大概有600年的历史。在英国有纯心理学，也有更加细分的心理学，如教育心理学、临床心理学、体育心理学、动物心理学、商业心理学等等，根据你的兴趣方向来选择。院校推荐：伦敦大学学院、巴斯大学、约克大学、布里斯托大学，格拉斯哥大学，杜伦大学，爱丁堡大学等，雅思要求在6.5-7.0单项不低于6.5-6.0分左右，依照学校而定。

This Masters in Psychological Studies is designed to provide you with a broad and critical awareness of psychological theory and practice, together with opportunities to focus on aspects of psychology with particular relevance to your own experience and interests.

If your first degree does not provide you with the necessary qualification for a career in psychology, this programme enables you to to build on the transferable skills you have attained in your previous undergraduate
degree and provides you with the necessary level of study in psychology which is acceptable to the British Psychological Society.
The programme is designed to provide you with a broad and critical awareness of psychological theory and practice, together with opportunities to focus on aspects of psychology with particular relevance to your own experience and interests.
You will develop an enquiring, problem-oriented mind with sufficient awareness of critical research and applications in psychology to enable successful pursuit of careers in psychology and related disciplines.
You will also gain a range of generic intellectual and practical skills including initiative, self-reliance and critical ability, which are easily adaptable to the needs of the labour market.

As this programme is accredited by the British Psychological Society, successful graduates from the programme are eligible for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership of the Society (GBC). Our graduates have successfully progressed to further professional training in the field of psychology on programmes such as clinical psychology, educational psychology, forensic psychology and occupational psychology. Others have progressed to research posts and PhD study. Some graduates have used the qualification to advance their skills in their current employment and progressed through to promoted posts.

Programme Overview
Educational psychology is about the study and understanding of people’s behaviour and the inter-relationship this has with organisational structures within educational and community settings. This initial training programme is designed to enable recent and mature graduates who have experience of working with children and young people to become educational psychologists who may register with the Health Professions Council in order to practice within the UK.
