Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Biochemistry or Biological Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry (CBC) at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI, Worcester, MA) invites applications and nominations for an open rank position in Biochemistry or Biological Chemistry beginning Fall 2016. The new hire will join a successful, well-funded research department that resides in WPI’s Life Science and Bioengineering Center, a modern state of the art research facility conducive to collaborative and interdisciplinary research. This hire is integral to the continued expansion of the CBC department and is part of WPI’s strategic initiative in health related research.

We are seeking a colleague with expertise in an area that complements departmental research strengths in investigating the structure and function of membranes and associated proteins in health and disease. We encourage candidates with interests in the biophysical and biochemical properties of membrane proteins and/or lipid signaling using, for example, biochemical, chemical biology, x-ray or cryo-electron microscopy approaches, to apply for this position. The successful applicant will develop a vigorous, externally funded, internationally highly regarded research program. A strong commitment to teaching in the undergraduate and graduate curricula is expected. Applicants for a senior position will have a strong record of high impact publications and funding.
