What does it cost to study at LJMU?

We know that most of our international students have to stick to a budget and that's why we strive to keep our tuition fees as low as possible.

Our undergraduate and postgraduate degrees starting in September 2011 will cost between £10,050 and £13,350 each year depending on whether they are class or laboratory based (please see specific costs below).

All international students applying to LJMU for full degrees starting in September 2011 and January 2012 will be entitled to an award of £1000 in year one only of their studies.  The award will be offered at source and deducted from year one of the course fee.

Though a degree is a considerable investment, choosing to study at the UK - and in particular at LJMU - represents excellent value for money when compared to the USA or Australia, where you can expect to pay between 8-48% more for a similar degree programme. Liverpool is one of the UK's most affordable cities - 40% less expensive than London - though how much you spend will of course depend on your lifestyle and the course you want to follow.

Money is obviously an important matter that all students need to think about bore making any decision on coming to study in the UK.  It is essential that you have adequate funding to support yourself during your stay in the UK.  When you apply for your visa or entry clearance, you will need to provide evidence of having enough money to support yourself, and to pay for all of your expenses.

UKBA guidelines state that the average cost of living is between approximately £5,400 - £6,000 per person, year.This takes into consideration accommodation, utility bills, food, clothing, social expenses etc. Please note these are only average figures and should be used as a guide only.
